Heavenly Banana Walnut Cream Cake
A moist, rich cake featuring bananas and walnuts with a creamy topping. Perfect for special occasions or a delightful dessert!
Ingredients:
Bananas – 3 ripe, mashed
Eggs – 3 large
Milk – 1/2 cup
Butter – 1/2 cup, softened
Granulated Sugar – 1 cup
All-Purpose Flour – 2 cups
Baking Powder – 2 tsp
Baking Soda – 1/2 tsp
Walnuts – 1 cup, chopped (reserve some for garnish)
Salt – 1/4 tsp
For the Cream Topping:
Whipping Cream – 1 cup, chilled
Vanilla Extract – 1 tsp
Honey or Maple Syrup – 2 tbsp (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
Instructions:
Prepare the Batter
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add the Bananas and Dry Ingredients
Stir in the mashed bananas. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk until smooth.
Fold in the chopped walnuts, reserving a few for garnish.
Bake the Cake
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely.
Prepare the Cream Topping
In a mixing bowl, beat the chilled whipping cream with the vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Add honey or maple syrup if you prefer a slightly sweeter topping.
Assemble and Garnish
Spread the whipped cream over the cooled cake. Sprinkle the reserved walnuts on top for a lovely finish. Slice and serve!
